The Purple Elephant Computer Factory for Kids is a nonprofit 501-C3 organization focused on providing
affordable computer systems to students and under-served members of the community. They accept donated
computers, refurbish them, and make them available to kids of all ages - disadvantaged, at-risk, military, and other
individuals at a very low cost. The Purple Elephant's mission is to bridge the educational and rehabilitative needs of
children and adults by placing computer technology directly into the home.

The following information has been provided by Grace Episcopal Church and Horne Methodist Church in Clayton to help
the victims of the disaster in Haiti.
You may go to the following web site, http://www.episdionc.org, and donate online to Episcopal Relief and Development
immediate needs and long term development. Go to the icon on the top right and click to donate and designate that your
contribution is for Haiti;
Or, you may contribute supplies to Horne Methodist Church in Clayton who have a mission team on the ground in
Haiti (having just gotten there for a planned mission trip). They are sending the first load tomorrow and will be collecting
for another flight next week. The main area of need is for medical supplies. If anyone has medical contacts and can help
acquire some of these items that would be great. They may also need help packing up supplies so let them know if you
can give a few hours of your time to help.
Here is the most current list of needs. Also, the head of their relief agency UMCOR, Sam Dixon, who is from Raleigh is
missing in Haiti. Prayers have been requested for him.
Items Needed for Haiti Right Away!
Basic Needs: Blankets, Sheets, Towels, Wash Clothes, Health Kits*, Food, Tarps
Medical Needs: Plastic or Fiberglass Casting, Suture 3-0,4-0 Nylon, Suture Instrument Kits, Betadine, 4x4 Dressing
Roll Gauze, Web Roll for Casting, Saline IV and Irrigation, Injectible Pain Medication, Injectible Antibiotics IV and IM,
Rocephin, ANCEF, KFLEX, External Fixture, Tools to put them in (tool boxes??), Traction Bows and Pins.
*A Health Kit contains specific items:
1 hand towel (15” x 25” up to 17” x 27”)
1 wash cloth
1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz and up)
1 toothbrush (single brush only in original wrapper; no child-sized brushes)
1 large tube of toothpaste
6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
All items should be placed inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag. No money, notes, religious or political literature, or other
items should be placed in the kits.
Items can be brought to Horne Memorial UMC, the corner of 2nd and Church Streets.
Checks and Cash donations also accepted.
Checks should be made payable to Horne Memorial UMC and designated for Haiti Disaster.

Several of the Johnston County Relay for Life teams are selling Fight Like a Girl tee shirts as part of this year's fundraising
campaign.
I have a couple samples of black with pink lettering. There are also yellow with pink lettering available.
The sizes are Med-XXX. Short sleeve are $12 and long sleeve (limited availability) are $18 (M-XX).
Make your check out to the American Cancer Society or ACS if you are interested and I will get you a shirt. Please pass this
email on to your friends and family. Our county goal is to top $500,000 this year. Please help us raise money for research to
find a cure.............Celebrate.....Remember.....Fight Back!

ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN NEED OF FOOD SUPPLIES FOR THE POOR
St. Ann Catholic Church is in need of non-perishable food supplies to accommodate the number of persons needing food at that site. Food is distributed in the Church at St. Ann every Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Food may be dropped off at the Church Office during business hours.

St. Ann Catholic Church is a participant in the YWCJCC "Feed the Poor" Project, Clayton Area.
