"SPRING FLING"
THURSDAY, MAY 6, 2010
6:00 to 10:00pm
Comfort Suites in Clayton
The Spring Fling held on May 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at the Comfort Suites in Clayton was the most festive
and fun event of our times.  If you couldn't attend, you missed a great evening -- filled with joy, laughter, and friendship.

Nearly 55 people attended -- organization members, their families, and friends.  The pot-luck dishes were varied and
delicious and started the evening off in an indulgent way.
Music brought liveliness to the group with many dancing to their
hearts' content and to their feets' demise.

Special activities took place intermittently throughout the evening.  A table provided the setting for colorful
flower pots
each containing a hidden number for the drawing of a winning gift.  Also, one dollar tickets were sold for a
50/50 raffle.

A very special surprise took place midway during the evening.  Deb Everett showed an audio-visual photoshow
titled "YWCJCC - A Coalition of Concerned Citizens" which she herself created and produced.
 The show is a
photo display of Organization events taking place over the past year with background music reflective of the spirit of our
members and mission. This was definitely an evening highlight and a 'must see'.  Anyone interested  can view the show at

I have ordered a DVD and will be making copies for those interested in a keepsake.

The success of the "Spring Fling" is attributed to the creativity and hard work of the Planning Committee
who
deserve a special round of applause:
Royal Williams - Chair and Members - Sheila Williams, Deb Everett, Griselle
Anderson, Margaret Gooding, Jerry and Marie Dodson.
Thanks is also extended to Lloyd Barnes who searched
long and hard, and found the needed audio-visual equipment for the photoshow.
Through the efforts of our
expert recruiters, Royal and Sheila Williams, seven new members signed up and joined the Organization that
evening.

Finally, by closing time,
$229 had been added to the Organization's bank account.

                          Flower Gift Raffle:              $58
                          50/50 Raffle:                        $71
                          Contribution:                      $30

Seven New Members:       $70
                          TOTAL INCOME                  $229
