The Serve the Need in Johnston County, Inc. was formed by a group of concerned citizens on November 19, 2008.
It was State chartered on February 10, 2009 and qualified on the same date as a charitable non-profit organization
under IRS Regulation 501(c)(3).  

                                                                            
         INCOME

Income to the Organization comes by way of membership dues, contributions, and fund raiser activities (yard sales and
raffles).  According to IRS Regulation, all contributions to the Organization are acknowledged in writing and are tax deductible
to the donor.  Additionally, all individuals who join receive letters of acknowledgement.

Since incorporation, approximately 150 individuals have joined the Organization. The income has amounted to approximately
$6,121 and our expenditures to approximately $3,000.  The STNinJC's bank account currently  shows a  balance of
approximately $3,028.  The Treasurer of the organization is bonded for $25,000 and Treasurer Reports are submitted monthly
to the Executive Board.  Funds are audited annually by a Certified Public Accountant.  The Organization's Bylaws and End of
Month Financial Report are included on the Website.  The STNinJC is a transparent Organization committed to fiscal
responsibility, accountability, and oversight.

                                                                            EXPENDITURES

Most of the Organization's funds have been spent on start-up activities: IRS and State Incorporation --$360; Insurance for
Bonding of Treasurer -- $231; Website Formation-- $130; and for miscellaneous office supplies; i.e. printing of business cards
and brochures, paper, cartridges, postage, etc.  

The Organization also expended $1,500 in awarding three $500 scholarships for the fall 2009 semester to needy college
bound high school seniors from Clayton, North Johnston, and South Johnston High Schools. The Organization has made
contributions to other organizations whose purpose is consistent with the mission of STNinJC. Some of these donations include
$100 for clothes for children in the Clayton "Kids Cafe" Program, $50 to the Mount Vernon Church "Cup of Soup" Program,
$100 to Harbour Incorporated for domestic violence, and $50 to  the "Feed his Sheep" Substance Abuse Program.
